ACCUREG IS GIVING BACK
As a company, we recently adopted a charity that is building a children's hospital in a remote underserved area of Haiti. The organization is called Danita's Children, Hope for Haiti Children's Center, Inc. Danita's Children started as an orphanage 10 years ago and today has 76 orphans in three orphan homes. They also built a school that educates nearly 600 of the most needy children in the community, a church and a community playground - all built and operating with no debt. They are a small organization that (according to outside audit) funnels 87% of all donations to the children they serve. Their vision and plan now is to build a 44-bed children's hospital and clinic to meet the overwhelming medical needs of the children in Haiti. It is an audacious goal, but they are an exceptional group of individuals, especially the founder, Danita Estrella. To Danita, building this hospital is the keeping of a promise to a dying child who would have lived if basic medical care were available in that area of Haiti. Unfortunately that story is just one of thousands. The good news is we can turn this around!
To keep that promise, Danita's Children needs help from healthcare professionals in the hospital community with planning, operations, and donation of equipment, supplies, furnishings and expertise (ex; what will we need to setup and operate a pediatric surgical clinic, med/surg unit, radiology, lab, medical records or diagnostic department in that environment). They have already acquired the property and broken ground with plans drawn from architects, engineers and other professionals in Orlando and around the US who have given their time and services all on a volunteer basis. Our role as a company is to help them get the word out and plan for the hospital's operational needs, which starts by building a network of support in the U.S.
Danita's Children is a 501(c)3 organization so hospitals can gain a tax break by donating used equipment, furnishings or supplies to the project.
