AccuReg Founder and CEO, Paul Shorrosh, discusses how technological advances in RCM and claims processing, such as automatic insurance validation and identification of patients’ benefit coverage, can help hospitals prevent denials before they happen.

Shorrosh elaborates, saying “in combination with [insurance validation and specific benefit coverage], we can automatically audit 100% of accounts against data from the insurance company and compare it via rules engine that we develop for that specific situation because we also know what their denial patterns are.” And that, he says, “helps us surface and identify accounts that are at high risk of denial or nonpayment.”

In the article, Shorrosh also explains how AI, automation and RPA will aid providers in preventing denials earlier in the revenue cycle process, and that “interoperability with EHRs will also help avoid denials and disagreements.”
