Shawn Zimmerman is Vice President of Product Development, bringing 15 years of experience in healthcare technology and executive leadership to AccuReg. Passionate about providing innovative, user-friendly and insightful software to health systems, hospitals and clinics, Zimmerman founded Zenig in 2012, a company specializing in digital patient intake and engagement technology. AccuReg acquired Zenig in 2020 to develop a full-scale integrated platform for patient access, intake and engagement that protects and grows hospital revenue while giving patients the consumer-friendly experience they expect.
Zimmerman began his career as a PACS administrator and a clinical informatics analyst at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center, giving him insight to the daily challenges within the hospital setting. He learned how the right technology can improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase revenue, leading him to several healthcare technology consulting roles. Zimmerman earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Appalachian State University and his MBA from Webster University. He works in AccuReg’s Orlando, Florida office.
